COVID Work Safe-and-Clean

To support the general community in being “COVID-19 Work Safe-and-Clean” as they return to work, HHA has developed a free on-line training program to improve education about safe hand hygiene practice in the work place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The program provides specific instructions for each of 7 key industry sectors and community activities:

  • Retail
  • Hospitality
  • Trades and Manufacturing
  • Office
  • Taxis and Ride share
  • Childcare and Pre-School (also suitable for school teachers in conjunction with any directives from the Dept. of Education in your state)
  • When you are “out and about”

Workers in these areas can undertake the HHA “COVID Work Safe-and-Clean” Training Program and become “certified” in their knowledge about how and when to correctly perform hand hygiene to provide a safe work and home environment. On completion, participants will be emailed a HHA certificate confirming that they are certified in their knowledge of safe hand hygiene work practices.

HHA suggests that all employers encourage their employees to become certified in the HHA “COVID Work Safe-and-Clean” Training Program as part of their safe work procedures. Employers who have ensured all their employees are certified can download a HHA Certificate confirming that their workplace is compliant with the HHA “COVID Work Safe-and-Clean” Training Program (click here for Business Certification).

The HHA “COVID Work Safe-and-Clean” Training Program is also an ideal way for all Australians to know the correct standards of hand hygiene behavior they should see from workers in each of these industry sectors – particularly as consumers, knowing the correct standards will help keep our families and work places safe.

Recognizing the considerable financial impact the current COVID pandemic has had on the Australian community, the “COVID Work Safe-and-Clean” Training Program and certification system is provided entirely free of charge by Hand Hygiene Australia as a key community education initiative to help all employers, employees and the entire Australian community return to work, while preventing the spread of COVID.
