NEW Learning Management System

HHA have recently launched a new learning management system where all of the hand hygiene e-learning modules are hosted. The modules are the same as previous, but the system is new.

To use the new system, visit our Online Learning>Complete a Module page, and press the start button. Then on the login screen you need to press the 'Register Here' button under the heading of New Users. This will take you through a registration process where you will be given a login.

Are Your Auditors validated?

All auditors, Gold Standard and General are required to collect 100 moments and complete the Annual Auditor Validation certificate every 12 months. The Annual Auditor Validation module is now accessed through our new learning management system. All auditors will need to register as a 'New User' in the new system to complete the Annual Auditor Validation certificate (see the link above).

HHCApp System Requirements

As part of routine maintenance, and in order to remain compatible with modern browsers, we will be updating HHCApp (Hand Hygiene Compliance Application) to operate under HTTPS. This is currently scheduled for 1 August 2016. While most users will not notice any change, this may impact access to users on very old (unsupported) operating systems and browsers. For example, Internet Explorer 6 running on Windows XP before service pack 3 will no longer be supported. Details of minimal requirements for operating systems and browsers can be found below. If you’re unsure how this will affect you, we suggest that you contact your IT support. Please contact us  if you have any questions or comments.

ABHR and Gloves

A reminder following some recent feedback from users noting the habit of hand rub being applied to gloves.

HHA Manual 3.8 Glove use - Hand hygiene is required with glove use at the following times:

  • Before putting on gloves and immediately after removing gloves
  • Gloves should be removed to perform HH during the care for a single patient as indicated by the 5 Moments for Hand Hygiene
  • Hand hygiene products should not be applied to gloves

Please remember to include this in your education if you find this practice in your facilities.
